Tourist Information

Riverside Village Holiday Park is a peaceful, picturesque site with an abundance of wildlife and mature trees. We are situated in 24 acres of countryside alongside the River Crouch, and there are plenty of things to do in the local area. Please see a small selection of these attractions below.

Wallasea Island Wild Coast Project

Within a mile of Riverside Village Holiday Park

The Wallasea Island Wild Coast project is a landmark conservation and engineering scheme for the 21st century. The aim is to combat the threats from climate change and coastal flooding by recreating the ancient wetland landscape of mudflats and saltmarsh, lagoons and pasture.

The project provides a haven for a wonderful array of nationally and internationally important wildlife and is an amazing place for the local community, and those from further afield to come and enjoy.

The current sea wall access along the North sea wall is a wonderful place to come to relax and enjoy, whether for walking, cycling, bird watching, painting, photography or simply taking in the sea air. The scheme creates a varied wetland landscape with more than nine miles of access routes and visitor facilities.

Southend Pier

9 miles from Riverside Village Holiday Park

Southend Pier is the town's historical icon as well as being the longest pleasure pier in the world, with its glorious 1.33 miles literally putting Southend on the map as well as into the record books. The pier is also home to Jamie Olivers tea rooms, which opened to the public earlier this year and was used for filming his Friday Night Feast TV show.

Since it was built in 1830, the Pier has seen both jubilant and troubled times coupled with many changes as it has evolved to meet the trends of the passing decades of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is a true survivor, having lived through fires, boat crashes, two world wars and economic decline as well as braving the elements of mother nature in beating off the effects of the weather and the waves.

Southend Pier is open every day all year round, except for Christmas day and is suitable for all ages. Both the walkway and pier trains have disabled access. The last entry onto the Pier is one hour before closing and opening hours are seasonal and subject to change annually.
